Mountain gorillas are found in three countries; that is Uganda Rwanda and Democratic republic of Congo. They inhabit two areas; the virunga volcanoes that lie on the Uganda Rwanda Congo border with Rwanda’s volcanoes national park, Congo’s virunga national park, and Uganda’s mgahinga national park. The other area the popular bwindi impenetrable national park that is home to about half of all mountain gorillas in the world
The trekking gorilla permit vary from country to country. In Rwanda its 1500$ per permit per trek, in Uganda its 600$ per permit per trek and in Congo its 400$ per permit per trek. The choice is yours to choose where you want to go
The difference arise out of different marketing strategy that these countries employ. Rwanda projects it self as an upmarket tourist destination, they therefore aim to attract few but very high spending tourists. Uganda aims at attracting more tourists owing to its rich tourism potential beyond gorillas. They therefore put a price that is attractive to both high, moderate and budget tourists. Congo’s because of its long history of insecurity and concern of tourist safety in its parks, has the lowest price which act as an incentive to people who really want to spend less
