RUSHEGURA GORILLA FAMILY

This family has 15 members with one silverbacks. Kabukonjo is the current leader of this family helped by his young brother to co lead the family. Kabukonjo took over the leadership of the group following the death of his long time surviving predecessor mwirima in march 2014. The family gets its name from a tree species that grows in its home range area known as Ebishegura in the local language. Its a calm family and often visits bwindi lodges gardens. Its generally the easiest family to track as it foliages near or around the park headquarters and sometimes ventures out of the park into the community gardens
